Gua Sha

Mechanically, Gua sha increases blood circulation, whereas physiologically it activates the immune system and stimulates the mechanosensitive fibers, thus leading to a reduction in pain.

Modern research shows Gua sha produces an anti-inflammatory and immune protective effect that persists for days following a single Gua sha treatment.

Gua sha is sometimes called ‘coining, spooning or scraping’. Gua sha helps to soften muscles and lift connective tissue, as well as reducing inflammation, promoting blood and lymphatic circulation, reducing pain and eliminating toxins through the skin.

It isn’t painful and the marks it leaves normally dissipate within 3-4 days.
