If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one
Are you unhappy with your skin, or your wrinkles?
Have you been a heavy smoker and feel this has really aged you?
Do you think your face and skin aren’t as firm as they used to be?
Are you concerned about your puffy eyes or neck and chin area?
As we age our skin loses its elasticity and firmness and wrinkles begin to appear. This is partly due to our collagen production deteriorating as we get older. All the moments we have spent stressed, angry or worried accumulate over time and slowly alter the way we look. Environmental factors, pollution and lifestyle can also dull the complexion.
A natural and holistic anti-ageing treatment
Cosmetic acupuncture concentrates on acupuncture points and muscles of the face to help improve elasticity of the skin, increase blood flow, improve muscle tone and increase collagen production.
Unlike some wrinkle treatments, which carry several possible side effects, cosmetic acupuncture is a totally natural and holistic anti-ageing treatment that aims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Treatment also works on lifting the face rather than simply targeting wrinkles.
Why try Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is an investment in yourself without using any horrible chemicals or invasive techniques. By investing in yourself now, you are not only helping to improve your skin, it’s creating the opportunity to feel better in yourself sooner.
A course of treatment takes several weeks to administer, allowing the body time between sessions to build collagen and rejuvenate on its own. We normally recommend a course of 8-10 weekly treatments for the best results, with top ups at 4-6 weekly intervals.
Over the course of treatments, you can not only expect to look more radiant, but you will also start to feel more in balance and happy in yourself.
Rachal has a wonderful calming nature and her facial acupuncture has had visible restorative effects with the bonus of enhanced well-being. Over a period of 10 weeks my skin has become brighter in tone,
there is an improvement to face lines and the jawline, with the most improvement being the lifting of my
eyebrows. An interesting addition during the acupuncture appointments is after having a quick look at me and examining my eyes, skin, pulse and tongue, Rachal offers feedback about what is going on for me physically and emotionally.
I find it very beneficial that Rachal works on a number of levels and adds extras to the treatment to suit what is happening in my body. I had quite acute pain in my knee at one of my treatments and Rachal worked on some extra acupuncture points to decrease the pain and this really helped.
What to expect
The treatment will begin by cleansing your face and then a numbing cream will be applied if you feel you require it.
Acupuncture points will be used on your face and neck to lift the facial muscles and improve muscle tone. Ultra-fine needles will be inserted into the wrinkles themselves on any problem areas you want to tackle, such as the frown lines, crow’s feet and laughter lines.
Once the needles are removed a finishing serum will be applied to hydrate and plump your face, followed by a finishing cream to calm and nourish the skin. The treatment ends with a lovely relaxing facial massage.
As part of the treatment the following serums and creams will be applied pre-and-post treatment:
EMLA Cream (optional) – active ingredients Lidocaine and Prilocaine. It is used to numb the skin before treatment.
Medik8 SkinCare Technology
The Medik8 skincare range is used to cleanse the skin before treatment and hydrate and sooth the skin post treatment. Their range is paraben free and is not tested on animals.
